Lady C
Known internationally as ‘Lady C’, Caroline Fraser is widely recognized as one of the strongest female dancers in the global Street Dance community. While her main focus in Street Dance has become the centre of her unique and captivating style, her beginnings as a classically trained dancer in Calgary, Alberta and her current involvement with Holla Jazz Dance Company contribute to her diverse skill set and wide range of vocabulary.
Caroline’s ability to move seamlessly between multiple genres gained attention and accolades from audiences and connoisseurs and she quickly created a name for herself around the globe travelling, teaching, judging, and performing. Caroline has simultaneously had a successful career as a songwriter and recording artist under the same pseudonym ‘Lady C’ and has multiple releases on all music platforms.
Marc Cardarelli
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Marc Cardarelli is a graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor in Fine Arts. In Toronto, Marc filmed the movies The Music Man, Honey, and Camp Rock, Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure, and American Girl: Isabelle Dances into the Spotlight. For TV, he was a guest star on the BBC Kids show Wingin’ It as well as The Next Step. Marc has worked with several contemporary dance companies in Toronto, including ProArte Danza, Helix Dance Project, and Bridge to Artists. Since moving to New York City in 2015, Marc has worked with Al Blackstone on several projects, including How Come U Don’t Call Me Anymore? for the 2017 Fire Island Dance Festival, Freddie Falls in Love at the Joyce Theater and Elephant in the Room at Art’s on Site. Marc has also with Andy Blankenbuehler for the film Dirty Dancing on ABC, and with Sonya Tayeh in You’ll Still Call Me By Name for the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. Recently, Marc was performing in the immersive show Sleep No More, created and directed by Punchdrunk.
Robert Glumbek
Associate Director, Resident Choreographer of ProArteDanza
Upon graduation from Bytom State Ballet School in Poland, Robert Glumbek joined The Great Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Warsaw as a soloist where he worked with choreographers including John Neumeier, Maurice Bejart, Hans Van Manen, John Butler, and Constantine Siergiejew. In 1987, Glumbek came to Canada and worked for a variety of companies – including Theatre Ballet of Canada in Ottawa with Larry Gradus, the Judith Marcuse Company in Vancouver, and Myth Productions with Learie Mc Nicolls – before dancing with Desrosiers Dance Theatre from 1990 – 2000 where he was instrumental in the creation of many roles.
Robert worked with the Mannheim Ballett as dancer and ballet master from 2002 to 2004 and then returned to Canada in 2004 to work as an independent artist and choreographer. Glumbek has appeared in works independently, most notably: Greece’s 1998 Gala des Etoiles festival with Karen Kain, directed by Dominique Dumais; the role of Mars, Canadian Opera Company’s 2001 production of Venus and Adonis, choreographed by Serge Bennathan; and 32 Silver Pieces, DanceMakers, choreographed by Marie Josee Cartier (Dora winner). Robert has worked with choreographers: Kevin O’Day, Bill James, Peter Chin, Michael Downing (Dancefront), Dominique Dumais, Christopher House, Serge Bennathan, Holly Small, Learie McNicolls, Tedd Robinson. Robert’s first creations as co-choreographer with Roberto Campanella (pre-ProArteDanza) include: Nothing Twice, inspired by poet Nobel winner Szymborska; and the first incarnation of Nine Sentiments with poetry read by Michael Ondaatje, which became the catalyst for forming ProArteDanza.
Robert became Associate Director of ProArteDanza in 2004 where he has since created a number of acclaimed original works. Robert has also created works for Mannheim Ballett, princess productions, Toronto Dance Theatre, Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts, CCDT, Arts Umbrella, Ryerson University and York University. He was a finalist in the Hanover Choreographic Competition and in the Stuttgart Choreographic Competition, is a recipient of the Now Magazine award for Best Dancer of the Year (2006), and has been honoured with both the K.M. Hunter Artist Award and the Clifford E. Lee Choreography Award. Robert is a four-time Dora Mavor Moore nominee, and was the co-recipient with Roberto Campanella for their choreography of … in between … in 2010. Robert created three new works in 2013: a full-length work, Casanova (UA), for Mannheim Ballet; the co-creation Four Season with Kevin O’Day; Once Upon A Time for Szczecin Ballet in Poland for which Robert was presented the Jon Jiepura award for best choreographer in Poland.
Melissa Williams
Melissa Williams is one of the most innovative artistic director/producers working in the entertainment industry today.
With credits spanning the globe, Melissa has worked with some of the most established artists, actors and directors in the industry. Born in Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada, Williams had her first taste of the industry at 16 when she competed as a dancer in the ubiquitous talent show Star Search, as the hip hop/adage duo Johnnie & Melissa, making it to the semi-finals and several trips to Los Angeles to tape the show. Returning to LA at the age of 19, Melissa embarked on a six-year experience with ‘Mr. Purple Rain’ himself, Prince.
Prince hired Melissa to choreograph the three-act dance concert tour featuring the music of Prince and the NPG, Around The World In A Day. After spending months at Paisley Park studios choreographing, rehearsing and helping to develop the New Power Generation Dance Company, Melissa was hired by a European production company Wolfgang Bocksch Concerts to direct and choreograph California Dream Men. After the success of CDM’s tour Melissa was commissioned to choreograph and musically stage Grease-the musical and Hair-the musical European tours.
In 2005 Melissa returned to Canada, settling in the Windsor area to be close to her family, and raise a family of her own, which now includes son Michael and daughter Ava. While based in Canada Melissa has been a choreographer on hit series Handmaid’s Tale, Kim’s Convenience, Jupiter’s Legacy, Bomb Girls, an associate choreographer on Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale Tour and was a guest judge and choreographer on seasons 1 through 4 of So You Think You Can Dance Canada., as well as working on series 11-22-63.
